With this exciting menu, get ready to experience a slice of India’s famous street food culture that is an explosion of flavours, aromas and textures. Indian hawkers and street stalls bring their unique take on classic roadside snacks and dishes to the streets on a daily basis. These stalls have evolved into a thriving street food culture that is an essential part of Indian urban life.

The recipes I’ve included in my Indian street food menus are designed to ignite all the senses and transport the atmosphere of India’s street vendors right to your dining table.

I have joyous memories of eating and enjoying a variety of street food dishes while growing up in India. Indian street food culture is an integral part of Indian cuisine and daily life. The best part about this way of eating is that it can be enjoyed as a little treat anytime of the day which could be when you’re out and about shopping in the local markets or as a special outing in the evening with your friends & family. Indian street food culture offers a sense of community and socialisation. People come together to enjoy street food and catch up with friends and family, making it a social gathering as much as a culinary experience.

One of the unique features of Indian street food culture is the ability to customise your food according to your taste. Many street food vendors offer a variety of chutneys, sauces, and spices that customers can add to their food to enhance the flavour. I hope you enjoy this introduction to some delicious new Indian flavours and authentic recipes that I’ve treasured over the years.

Street food culture has historically played an important part in feeding the masses in Indian. For people living busy lives in fast paced cities, street food culture is essential to keep things moving. From office workers to tradesmen to students street food serves all kinds of people needing to be fed on the go. The range of vendors is vast and the food is always served fresh and is full of flavour making it hard to resist.

Hero Ingredients

Kashmiri Chilli Powder

Mild and aromatic chilli powder known for its deep red colour and gentle warmth. Adds rich flavour and natural vibrancy to curries, marinades and tandoori dishes without overpowering heat. A key spice for authentic balance in Asian cooking.

Free Range Chicken

Free-range British chicken from award-winning family butcher, slow-grown and reared to high welfare standards for maximum flavour. Naturally tender and full-bodied in taste delivering juicy, richly flavoured meat with a satisfying depth.

Paneer (Indian Cheese)

A firm, mild Indian cheese that holds its shape beautifully in cooking while soaking up rich spices and sauces. It brings a delicate creaminess and satisfying texture to curries, grills and classic Indian dishes.

Gram Flour (Besan)

A finely milled flour made from chickpeas, besan is a key ingredient in Indian cooking for binding, coating and adding earthy depth. It creates light crisp textures when fried and brings a nutty flavour to batters, snacks and savoury dishes.
