Christmas Mulled Wine – With A Spanish Twist

christmas mulled wine, by claire hutchings

“I love Christmas! My favourite thing to get into the Christmas spirit is to make mince pies, Christmas cake, panettone and lots more delicious, joyful treats. I enjoy cooking with a little Christmas tipple, so I’m going to share with you my favourite mulled wine recipe. It’s delicious and decadent!”

Chef’s favourite

“We will use some red vermouth in this mulled wine recipe, which will give the mulled wine a beautiful flavour. However, although it’s name suggests it’s red, it’s actually more caramel in colour. My favourite is the Vermut Rojo Mallorca – Muntaner. It’s made from the Prensal grape and macerated for more than a month in orange and lemon peel, elderflower, star anise, ginger, rose petals – and so much more. It gives an extra boost of cosy comfort to this Christmas drink. I can’t wait for you to try it!”
