Greek recipes hold universal appeal for the millions who have visited the country over the years. With the aromatic, tangy, mellow flavours of citrus, peppers, herbs, cheeses and oils combined with fresh ingredients like seafood and grilled meats, plump aubergines and tomatoes, we bring the flavours of the Mediterranean to your table. I’m so proud of the Greek Cookaway menus I have created, capturing the sunshine dishes of my childhood, telling their stories in an authentic and delicious way, and honouring the past while introducing newcomers to the joy of Greek cuisine.
I was born in a small village on the island of Crete and my early memories are of the scarcity of luxuries but the abundance of fresh, home-cooked food. Treats were rare and usually home-made. Life took me to London and a career in banking, but I never lost my love of the food from my homeland. In 2010, I moved to the small village of Cartmel in Cumbria, similar to Crete in that there is a great appreciation of food and cooking, with the focus on quality and freshness of produce. In 2019 I entered and won MasterChef, taking recipes from my youth reimagined with a lighter, modern touch. I hope to inspire both old and young to try Greek meals.
