"There is divine pleasure in humble ingredients prepared with amore."

the italian cookaway
In the North East region of Italy where I grew up, the cucina povera (poor kitchen) style of cooking taught me the joy of working with the best of what is available to create wholesome, satisfying food. From my home in London I have evolved traditional Italian recipes to use local produce, but the philosophy remains the same. Sharing good food is at the heart of an Italian home and my Italian Cookaway menus will bring you the joy of that experience.
I have fond childhood memories of my mother cooking delicious food using humble ingredients. She taught me to seek out the best quality ingredients I could find and to prepare them with care. As a child I always ate what my parents ate – there is no such thing as a children’s menu in Italy – and food is still at the heart of my family traditions. When I moved to Yorkshire as an adult, I evolved my recipes to include the wonderful local produce, especially game. Reaching the final of MasterChef UK in 2011 gave me the chance to pursue my culinary dreams professionally. I love sharing my Italian cuisine (with a Yorkshire twist) through my cookery school, supper clubs and of course, The Italian Cookaway.
