My story

I grew up in Ensenada, a coastal town in Baja California, northwest Mexico. I come from a family of wonderful cooks, my grandmother, my mum, my aunties and my dad all made incredible Mexican dishes from scratch. As a child, my parents always encouraged us to help in the kitchen. Sometimes it was simple tasks like sorting and cleaning beans, heating up tortillas or chopping vegetables, everyone had to take part. At home, breakfast and lunch always felt like a feast. So, when I moved to London in 2003, I deeply missed the food I grew up with. I began cooking the dishes my parents used to make for me and that’s where my food journey truly began. Since then, it has led me on many wonderful adventures, from writing a Mexican cookbook to opening a cookery school and hosting supper clubs. I love sharing the rich flavours and vibrant traditions of Mexican food and showing people just how delicious and joyful it can be.
